Artists & Events

A facet of this particular ecomuseum experiment is the involvement of local and other artists in the process of interpretation, innovation and associated events. Exhibitions are usually launched with a performance of some kind but artists are also heavily involved at the Living Museum in many other ways, including interpretation of physical culture and heritage as in the Pipestacks construction by Kerrie Poliness which interprets the industrial history of Pipemakers Park. The Museum also creates events around cultural ideas such as the Winter Solstice where artists contribute to the present interpretation of events handed down by tradition.
