Overview

This project uses the arts as a vehicle to develop an increased community spirit regards to service and respect for others, especially as it relates to immigrants, women and families, as inspired by the example of Chisholm and her dedicated local involvement.

An underlying theme of this project is exploring the role of faith in building a multicultural society. The first step in this is has been working together as a diverse cultural/spiritual community for this common good purpose, promoting the concept that ‘the community’ is more important than ‘the individual’.

The use of routines, such as doing laundry, sorting belongings and going to bed to depict family are discussed Imaginatively deconstructed are the fixed, preconceived ‘family and home’ references creatively portraying the project theme.
